Strike Bean - This bean gives a bountiful harvest of stringless beans, average 5-6” in length, and are medium green in color. Strike is ideal for processing or freezing. Matures in 55 days. Disease resistances: Bean Common Mosaic Virus (BV1, NY15)

Strike Bean, also known as Strike Bush Bean is a healthy and robust plant whose pods are known for great quality and nutritional value. It is scientifically known as Phaseolus vulgaris and has a germination rate of 85%. The pods grow to a length of about 5.5 inches and grow quite close together which makes harvesting easy.

Strike Bean seeds are 99% pure and have their origin in the USA. They can be sowed and planted in daytime when the temperature attains around 60º C for best benefits. The soil should be well drained since the strike bean plants require plenty of sunlight to grow to their potential.

Benefits

Strike beans contain a good amount of calcium, potassium and folic acid, thus making them an excellent source of great nutritional value; they can be consumed boiled or baked. You can collect the seeds by allowing the pods to dry on the plants and hen shelling them out of the plucked pods.

Use 

Strike beans are excellent for soups and curries and are often used in Mexican and South American recipes. They also are used to make stuffing for burgers and can be utilized to make delicious stews with a distinct flavor.

Things to consider

The planting depth should be 1-11/2 inches with seed spacing of 3”.

Row spacing is best kept at 18-24” with a germination temperature of 70 to 85º.

Care should be taken to see that the soil is not water logged with just sufficient watering.

Strike bean seeds take approximately 53 days to mature into a full grown plant that bears pods.
